Silent Season explores what it means to live in a place that is outlined by tourism, out of season. This photographic series is set in the southwest of England, Cornwall. This place is normally seen in summer, where the towns are alive, the homes are filled and the beaches are busy. In contrast Silent Season tells a story of a parallel version of Cornwall by focusing on when the tourist season fades, the weather gets darker and rougher, streets empty and beaches start feeling like wastelands and the second homes are left unoccupied. This vast emptiness leaves only the locals to use the spaces, preparing their businesses for the next season.
